As Bramptonians, this is our home and we care deeply about our growing community. As one of the fastest growing cities in the country, Brampton is also young and dynamic, with the lowest average age of any major city in Canada at just 36.5 years old. With an incredibly diverse community of people from over 234 different ethnic backgrounds, Brampton is also the largest majority-racialized city in Canada.
And yet so many people do not feel a sense of pride or connection with Brampton.
We have heard people in power use troubling rhetoric to describe our communities and families. We have seen Brampton’s leaders make decisions that affect our city’s prosperity in ways that do not serve the communities they represent. We have heard negative narratives of Brampton, often fueled by xenophobia or racism, go unchallenged.
There is a lack of engagement by the community on local issues that affect our day to day. In the last municipal election, only 36% of Bramptonians voted, compared to over 60% in Toronto. The vast majority of Brampton is not exercising its full democratic power, and we want to change that.
We have a vision for a more equitable, connected and proud Brampton…a Brampton where every person is participating in our vibrant city through civic and community engagement.
We know that if we want Brampton to change for the better, we’re going to have to work hard as a community of all ages, races, religions and walks of life. So, we’re coming together to build a Brampton where every person’s democratic power is fully realized, and we’d like you to join us!

Vision Brampton is a nonpartisan, independent collective of young people committed to building a Brampton where every person’s democratic power is realized through community and civic engagement.
